Goooood evening, residents of Johto. It's a lovely, drizzly January day, and I've got a question you folks might be able to answer for me. Consider it an informal poll.

[York looks comfortable and cozy as he lounges around his house, still wearing his ugly Christmas sweater.]

Now, I understand that this place just isn't equipped to support a Grifball League, but there's got to be more to life than just hockey and baseball. Are there Pokémon Olympics or something I should tune into? And, hey, what kind of sports did you guys have back in your worlds? Were they fun? Would you recreate 'em here if you could?

[He rubs his chin for a moment, then adds:]

If anyone around Goldenrod's interested in forming some kind of low-key community sports team--y'know, something for people, not Pokémon--let me know. I might be able to help us get something set up before baseball season starts.

Casketball I can sort of figure out, but what's..."Skultimate Roller Maze?" It sounds awesome, whatever it is.

It totes is! See, you rollerskate on teams through obstacle courses, and the obstacles change every time you race! Pitfalls, swinging blades, hallways in the dark, anything! As long as one person from your team makes it to the finish line first, you win!

...D.L., I gotta be honest with you, kid. That sounds like a lot of fun. Man, we should totally have that here!

You think we could? It's normally a school competition, and... I haven't seen, like, any schools since I got here.

Well, it doesn't have to be schools. As long as we manage to rustle up two or more teams and find a place to hold the race, we can work something out. It could be Goldenrod versus...I don't know where most other people end up. Olivine, maybe? Or even Johto versus Kanto.

Oooh, that's a great idea! Our team versus their team! And maybe we could involve the Pokemon somehow!

Sure! Each participant can have one Pokémon to help them around obstacles. And then the hosts could use their Pokémon to make the obstacles in the first place. It'd be wild.

That'll be so cool! I bet everyone's going to love it! ... Does this game have roller stakes?

Uh. I don't see why not, but I guess I didn't ask about it. They have bikes, so why wouldn't they?

Okay, cool! I just wanted to be sure... this game is designed pretty weird in some places.

Yeah, you can say that again. I guess I can ask Carolina to check the Department Store for skates next time she's doing a supply run.

I'm working at the Goldenrod Department Store, so I'll keep an eye out too!

In the meantime, let's come back to this when it's a little warmer out. Might be easier to find skate-friendly race venues outdoors, and we could probably get more trainer interest when travel's happening, too.
