Okay, so does albinism happen to run in particular Pokémon species? I thought it might've been a newborn thing, but it's been a while and normal fur hasn't grown in yet for him at all.

[A young, energetic Sneasel clambers his way up the back of York's chair. He's kind of excessively pink.

Someone's got his first shiny is what's happening here.

The Sneasel waves at the camera, then slips back down in an undignified tumble before running off again to play with York's Rotom. York watches him go before shaking his head.]

I ask 'cause I know that can cause eye problems, but he hasn't complained about it and Delta Two hasn't picked up any bad news from him. But he's a Dark type and a baby, so I dunno how much she'd be able to get from him, anyway. Do I need to get him glasses? Keep him out of the sun?

It gets annoying. Sometimes I wish there was something around here that didn't have a pun name.

[Maybe that's because Banjou just doesn't have a sense of humor, whoops.]

There's gotta be some stuff, right? Like, things that actually came from this world. Mythology, maybe?

Some things, sure, but even most Pokemon have pun names.

A ghost called Gastly, a wasp with... drills called Beedrill. It's strange.

You got a point there, man. Though you don't want to know how long it took me to figure out the joke behind Elgyem.

Back in the twentieth century when aliens were only a crackpot conspiracy theory, folks used to call them "little green men," 'cause that's what people thought extraterrestrial life was gonna look like. So, L.G.M. It's kinda cute.

In Japan, they've always been drawn as looking like octopi.

Some of 'em do. Sorta. If you use your imagination. They've got the tentacle part down, anyway.

You've been around aliens before?

[He's both not human and has been here for a year. Aliens just interest him, thankfully.

But yeah, I'm familiar. Humanity'd been at war with a few of them for twenty-five, thirty-something years or so by my time.

I've always hated fighting. That's why I like being here.

I'm better about Pokemon battles than I used to be.

[Most of his team is level 100, actually.... but he's also been here for a long time and his team is tiny.]

I'm supposed to be a Breeder, but mostly I just make sure my Pokemon are happy.

Oh! Yeah, me too--the breeding thing, I mean. I kinda like the battling, but, well. Military background.

Battling isn't so bad, since the Pokemon enjoy it.

One of these I'll get along to actually trying to breed Pokemon. I'm not sure how it works, exactly. From what I've heard you sort of turn around day and suddenly there are eggs there.

Yeah, that's basically how it goes. Leave 'em in a room while you go to work and you'll come back to a clutch or two. Is that the word? Clutch of eggs?

I think so. It's something like that, anyway.

It's a weird thing, having everything hatch from eggs.

I can accept it up to a point, but when you got computer programs and ghosts coming out of 'em, well, I gotta draw a line somewhere.

I don't understand how ghost Pokemon are possible, but at least they're pretty interesting.

Yeah, I only got one of those so far. Rotom. I gotta say, it's pretty cute; likes possessing my coffeemaker.

I might have to try finding one of those.

You can find 'em around Goldenrod. Not sure where else they might pop up, but other city-like spaces could be a safe bet.

Fortunately, I live in Goldenrod.

I'll have to see what I can find.
